Around London
December 2008
Gus was lucky enough to secure two tickets to the Flug Tag in London's Hyde Park. We found a great spot by the Serpentine and enjoyed a good number of failed flight attempts before getting bored… Seeing it live is much more fun, however the edited televised version cuts out all the boring bits!

I still have people asking me what Picadilly Circus is… Cirus is the Latin word for 'a meeting of roads'. You would call it 'Picadilly Round-about'. Leon would call it 'Picadilly Traffic-circle'.

For my birthday, Gus organised possibly the best present ever… my first trip to Paris. Unfortunately that evening the Channel Tunnel caught on fire, so instead we took the Tube to Covent Garden for dinner.

To be perfectly honest, I can't remember where we were going, possibly Spain. But I love Paddington Station, hence the inclusion of this photograph.

Whiteleys is one of the original shopping malls in London. Nothing like Westfield, but we have one of those here now also.

Just near the lab where I have my colour negatives developed is a great little pub that sells an excellent local white beer. I stop off for a pint whenever I have exposed films.
One of my favourite Pubs… Gus spends a lot of time on the phone…
London is full of great museums and galleries. To be honest, I haven't visited many yet, but there is plenty of time.

Gus doesn't believe that these are actually serviceable aircraft. Welcome the 747 generation…
Greenwich
Just on the outskirts of Central London is the observatory where time begins (ie. Mean Timeline). It's not exactly what I expected, but makes for a lovely summer afternoon.

Windsor
While my Aunty Jen was visiting, we went for a visit to the Queen's residence at Windsor. This was undoubtedly the most relaxing afternoon I have spent lying on the grass since I arrived in London.
