Snow in London, Finally!

February 2009

At Home

We were lucky this winter to experience the greatest snowfall in living memory in London. Public transport ceased, businesses were closed and everyone enjoyed an afternoon of childish behaviour in our local parks. As one of our neighbours commented… "I haven't seen Londoners being this civil toward each other for nigh on twenty years!"

Crystal Palace

The Crystal Palace was originally constructed for the Great Exhibition, a massive steel and glass building created in London's Hyde Park in 1851. Three years later it was moved to the area now called Crystal Palace where it was destroyed by fire in 1936. All that is left now is one of the world's first theme parks.
