The Great White Takeover

Everywhere I look, America is coming to Japan.

American fashion
American music
American movies
American food
American restaurants
American English
American politics
American violence

Ever since the opening of the Port of Yokohama and the Meiji Restoration, America has exported its infamous one-size-fits-all brand of democracy and moral values to Japan. The loss of the unique Japanese culture would be a terrible thing indeed.

However, I should not complain. As says the Bible in my Hotel's bedside table;

"Do not vainly lament, but realise that nothing is permanent and learn from it the emptiness of human life. Do not cherish the unworthy desire that the changeable might become unchanging."
